Sometimes the barn wood finds you, and sometimes you find the barn wood. Following an ad on craigslist we found an owner looking to sell a stash of wood from his century old barn in southeast Olathe.
This was our first experience working with reclaimed barn wood. We learned first hand how valuable a metal detector is when trying to find nails. After a little elbow grease and some joinery, we had the beginnings of a hearty harvest table.
A few coats of finish and this one-of-a-kind piece with a unique origin story will live on to host many dinners to come.
