Sometimes little things have a way of really shining. Our friends and clients have come to love unique pieces with a story and we have come to love combining our talents for woodworking and food.
Larder Boards: A larder is a large room or cupboard for storing and preserving food. We combined this concept and love of fermenting, pickling and good food to create some unique pieces from a dead Honey Locust tree. The natural finish is made from a food-safe oil and local Kansas City beeswax.
Nature knows best: This live-edge serving tray is made from a piece of Kansas City Sycamore and is a great accent to any table. In case you are wondering that bowl in the back contains pickled cherries which are surprisingly very tasty.
We’re never ones to waste and these white oak and walnut serving trays were made from scraps leftover from another project. A little hard work and some sanding and they came out great
Some people see a downed limb on a hike and walk by, we see a downed limb and think serving bowl.
These last two pieces were made from a downed cherry tree from a friend’s farm outside of Elizabeth, IL. Both the bowl and the serving rounds are finished in local beeswax.
